Trump to hold press conference at his golf resort in New Jersey

Former President Donald Trump has scheduled a press conference at his golf resort in New Jersey, marking his second media event in recent weeks as he takes a fresh, force-infused approach ahead of next week’s Democratic National Convention.

Trump has also stepped up his criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris, despite not having held any recent press conferences or interviews with President Joe Biden, who ended his reelection campaign in an effort to regain his position.

Vice President Harris has had limited interactions with the media since becoming the Democratic nominee. Although she has traveled with reporters on Air Force Two, her engagements have mostly been brief exchanges while boarding or disembarking the plane.

In a recent, brief discussion, Trump expressed his desire to secure an interview by the end of the month.

Trump’s message has faced challenges lately, most notably at a campaign event in North Carolina, where he vowed to cut energy costs and promote “economic prosperity.” His frustration was palpable as he commented on Democrats’ decision to position Biden as their primary candidate. He has harshly criticized San Francisco, denigrating Harris’ tenure as district taxman and launching personal attacks, including remarks about her intellect and demeanor.

A recent poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research suggests Americans may have more confidence in Trump than Harris on key issues like the economy and immigration, bringing those topics back to the center of the narrative.

In his previous press conference, Trump mocked Harris and faced questions about the hype surrounding his campaign. During the more than hour-long session, he repeated several controversial and scripted statements.
